We are a group of organisations working together to help save elephants.

The survival of elephants is threatened throughout Africa and Asia. African elephants have suffered their worst declines in 25 years, mainly due to poaching. About 20,000 elephants are killed every year, at a rate that would drive them to extinction if it is not stopped. We believe it’s the task of our generation to ensure elephants have a place in the future.

We believe very strongly that the UK Government needs to take action for this country to play its full part in that effort.  We are very encouraged by the proposals the Government has issued for consultation, indicating a determination to take a lead in the fight against the illegal ivory trade and elephant poaching.  There will be some opposition to the proposals, especially from the antiques trade, so it is crucial that there is a significant public response to the consultation to show overwhelming support for closing down the UK ivory market.
